Festive & Wedding 2026: Order-By Dates for International Delivery

Planning to wear an Indian outfit for Navratri, Karwa Chauth, Diwali, or a winter wedding abroad? Here are the realistic order-by dates for custom and ready-to-ship pieces, so your saree, lehenga, or poshak actually arrives in time.

The most heartbreaking message we receive is the one that arrives too late: a bride in Toronto, three weeks before her sangeet, asking whether we can craft, embellish, and ship a custom lehenga across the world in time. Sometimes the honest answer is no. Beautiful handwork takes the time it takes, and international shipping adds weeks on top of that. The good news is that timing is entirely solvable โ€” if you plan backwards from the date you actually need to wear the outfit. This guide gives you realistic order-by dates for the 2026 festive and wedding season, so your saree, lehenga, or Rajputi poshak arrives with room to spare.

The One Rule That Prevents Every Timing Problem

Work backwards from the event, not forwards from today.

A festive or bridal outfit reaching you abroad is really three timelines stacked on top of each other: the time to make it (for custom pieces), the time to ship it internationally, and a buffer for customs and courier delays during a busy season. Miss any one of those and the whole thing slips.

Here is the simple math for an international order:

  • Ready-to-ship pieces: allow 2โ€“3 weeks from order to your door โ€” express courier plus a customs buffer.
  • Custom, lightly embellished pieces: add several weeks of production before shipping.
  • Custom, heavily handworked lehengas and poshaks: add weeks to months of production. Dense Gota Patti, Zardozi, and mirror work cannot be rushed without cutting the very artistry you are paying for.

If you remember nothing else: order sooner than feels necessary. Festive-season courier volumes are heavy, and the buffer you build in is the difference between calm and panic.

Order-By Dates for the 2026 Festive Season

These are practical targets for international delivery. Confirm the exact festival dates for your calendar, and always lean earlier for heavily handworked pieces.

Navratri & Durga Puja (late September)

Navratri begins in the third week of September. For an outfit to reach you abroad in time, a ready-to-ship piece should be ordered by early September, and anything custom needs to be underway by mid-August. If you are dressing for all nine nights, our festive light lehengas and pure Leheriya sarees are built for movement and colour.

Karwa Chauth (mid-to-late October)

For your first Karwa Chauth especially, the outfit matters. Order a ready-to-ship saree by late September; begin any custom piece by early-to-mid September. Traditional reds and festive silks suit the occasion โ€” browse wedding sarees and timeless classic sarees.

Diwali (early November)

Diwali is the peak of festive shopping and the peak of courier congestion. Order ready-to-ship pieces by mid-October and confirm custom pieces by early October at the latest. Lightweight, statement-making options live in our festive light lehengas collection.

Order-By Dates for Winter Weddings Abroad

The November-to-February wedding season is when most of our international brides and wedding guests dress with us โ€” and it is where lead time matters most, because bridal pieces carry the densest handwork.

  • Wedding-guest outfits (sarees, lighter lehengas): order 4โ€“6 weeks ahead for ready-to-ship, longer for custom.
  • Bridal lehengas and Rajputi poshaks: these are months-long projects, not weeks. If you are a bride, you should already be planning. Read our dedicated Rajputi Poshak for NRI Brides guide for the full timeline, and use the complete bridal trousseau checklist so nothing is forgotten.

If you want to understand what drives the price and the production time on a poshak, our Rajputi Poshak Price Guide explains what you are really paying for.

When Your Date Is Already Close

Left it late? You still have good options โ€” you just need to remove production time from the equation.

  • Choose ready-to-ship. Our delivered-in-7-days collection is curated for exactly this: in-stock pieces that dispatch quickly.
  • Choose lighter embellishment. A lightly worked piece has no long production queue.
  • Choose express shipping. Ask us to confirm the realistic delivery window before you pay, so there are no surprises.

What we will not do is accept a rushed custom order on a heavily handworked piece and quietly compromise the craftsmanship to hit a date. That is not the outfit you deserve.

Ordering From Abroad, With Confidence

Ordering an Indian outfit from another country can feel daunting the first time. It does not need to be. We ship worldwide with proper customs documentation, we consult over WhatsApp and video, and we are honest about what a given timeline can realistically deliver. If you have ever wondered whether you can get your wedding outfit made in India without travelling, the answer is yes โ€” read Can I Order My Wedding Dress from India Without Traveling? for the full picture.

The single best thing you can do today is pick your date and count backwards. Message us with your event date and your destination country, and we will tell you honestly what is possible โ€” and help you choose the piece that arrives beautifully, and on time.
